Steel production in Iran will grow to 55 million tons by 2025

According to information provided by Iran Daily, the annual production volume of steel in Iran last year doubled and reached 19 million tons.

“When the current government came to power, Iran smelted less than 9 million tons of steel a year,” says Amir Amir Amiri, Deputy Minister of Industry of Iran. The production of steel will increase in case of maintaining the current trend, Iran will be released in the first place in this indicator in the Middle East this year, he added.

The Iranian government sets himself the task of increasing production of steel up to 55 million tons until 2025, Amir Amini emphasized. For this, the corresponding licenses have already been issued to electrometallurgical companies Torbat E Heydarieh and Torbat E Jam and Khwaf County.

The main metallurgical enterprises of Iran are located in Isfahan and Khuzestan, while the leading metallurgical enterprise Mobarakeh Steel Mill produces 47 percent of all steel in the country. Khuzestan Steel Company gives about 23 percent, ISFAHAN STEEL MILL - 20 percent and Iran National Steel Industries Group about 10 percent of the total steel in Iran.
