Exxonmobil and Chevron will come to Ukraine for a long time

Foreign Minister Leonid Kozara, during a visit to the United States, expressed the hope that powerful international energy companies such as Exxonmobil and Chevron will come to Ukraine and will remain for a long time, Radio liberty reports.

Also, during one of the business meetings, the minister said that Ukraine is actively looking for ways to diversify energy resources. The People’s Deputy Sergei Klyuyev, who was present at the meeting, was recently elected chairman of the US support group in the Verkhovna Rada, said that the decision by agreement with energy companies, in particular, Exxonmobil, should be signed next month.

Recall that the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources oleg Proskuryakov is confident that the agreement with the Chevron Gas Gas in the west of Ukraine can be signed until June 1 of this year, subject to a positive decision of the regional councils. However, the signing of the agreement is delayed due to the fact that the local authorities of the Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions cannot reach the final consent with representatives of the company.

As for the aforementioned strategy to establish new routes for diversification of energy resources, it should be noted that from May 15, Ukraine plans to receive European gas according to another reverse corridor - through the territory of Slovakia. According to Eduard Stavitsky, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry, in order to establish a new route, he turned to the European Commissioner Gunter Ettinger.
