The United States continues to attack Iran with new sanctions

Deputy Minister of Finance of the United States of America David Cohen said that the United States intends to impose additional sanctions against Iran, in particular, to ban the sale of gold and other precious metals to this country.

As stated in the statement of Cohen, the Islamic Republic since the beginning of this year has been actively buying gold and, in particular, it "has no doubt that Türkiye is selling Iran" this metal. The purchase of gold is designed to strengthen the Iranian real in relation to the dollar, which has lost more than a third of its value from the moment of introduction of sanctions.

Turkish-Iranian relations experience their "golden" days. According to data published by the Turkish Statistical Agency, export from Turkey to Iran increased significantly during the first five months of this year, reaching more than $ 4 billion. This is not a common occurrence in Turkish-Iranian trade relations, and it is obvious that something is happening.

According to analysts, Türkiye sold Iran about 58 tons of gold worth $ 3 billion in the first five months of 2012. There are still no explanations from the official sources for this unprecedented increase in demand for gold.

After the first of July, American companies will be forbidden to sell precious metals to Iranian state and private companies, as well as to individuals who have Iran citizenship, an official said for the issues of combating terrorism and financial intelligence of the United States.
