According to the World Casting Association and the World Steel Association (WorldSteel), steel production growth in the world for April was 1.2 percent compared to April 2012. The total number of raw steel in the 63 countries of the WorldSteel participants reached 132 million tons in April 2013.
For four months of 2013, smelting steel increased by 1.9 percent - to 521 million 283 thousand tons compared to the same period in 2012.
China remains the leader in the growth of steel smelting, which exceeded last year’s indicator by 6.8 percent and issued 65 million 700 thousand tons of ferrous metal.
The leader of the production of production became France, which reduced the smelting of steel by 12.3 percent - to 1 million 200 thousand tons.
Ukraine firmly settled in the 10th place of the rating of manufacturers of steel with a result of 2 million 700 thousand tons, which is 8.4 percent less than in the same month last year.
Russia remained in the 5th place of the TOP-10 manufacturers of steel with a result of 5 million 600 thousand tons, which is 4.3 percent less than last year.
According to WorldSteel data, the loading coefficient of metallurgical capacities in April 2013 increased to 80 percent from 79.1 percent months earlier, but compared to April 2012, this is 2 percent less.
