Europe builds exports and imports of steel

According to the results of the first quarter of 2013, the EU countries increase steel products by 1.18 percent compared to the same period last year - up to 6 million 479 thousand tons. However, in March, the export of metal rolling from the European Union again fell by 4 percent compared to March 2012. This was reported by the Association of manufacturers of European EUROFER.

Export shipments of sheet steel from the EU in March decreased by 5.6 percent - to 1 million 256 thousand tons, and varietal rental - by 1.9 percent - up to 1 million 24 thousand tons, both indicators to the same period last year.

The import of the metal rolling into the European Union countries in the first quarter of 2013 increased by 30 percent compared to January - March 2012 - to 4 million 597 thousand tons, including imports of sheet steel increased by 36.6 percent - to 3 million 818 thousand tons, and variety metal rolling - by 4.4 percent - up to 779 thousand tons.
