According to the press service of the Government of the Orenburg Region, Yuzhurantnikel, a member of the Mechel group, decided to reduce workers. It is reported by ITAR-TASS.
The reason for the stop of production was the low market price of nickel, poor quality raw materials and high tariffs for electric energy. According to the governor of the region, Yuri Berg, the Mechel group has already put up the Yuzhuralnikel for sale and is negotiating with potential buyers, the information about which is not disclosed.
The governor of the region has high hopes for the new owner, for example, he believes that after the change of the landlord, all the previously dismissed Employees of Yuzhuralnikel will be able to return to their jobs. “For six months, the issue of changing the owner should be resolved, and all abbreviated workers will be able to return to their jobs,” said Yuri Berg.
The governor, trade unions and representatives of the Mechel group assure that the process of dismissal will take place within the framework of the current legislation with the payment of all the compensation.
