Zaporizhstal in May reduced the production of steel by 15 percent

In May 2013, the Zaporizhstal metallurgical plant produced 279 thousand 700 tons of steel, which is 15.5 percent less than in May 2012. At the same time, the production of cast iron decreased by 16.3 percent to 275 thousand tons, and the production of metal rolling decreased by 9.2 percent to 275 thousand 400 tons. This was reported by the press center Zaporizhstali.

The reduction in production volumes at the enterprise is explained by the conduct of major repairs on the domain furnace number two.

In January-May 2013, the Zaporozhstal metallurgical plant increased the production of steel compared to the same period in 2012 by 0.4 percent, to 1 million 533 thousand tons, metal rolling-by 3.7 percent, to 1 million 329 thousand tons, but reduced the production of cast iron by 1.8 percent, to 1 million 306 thousand tons.
