By the end of this year, metallurgical plants of the Metinvest group will be sent to the port of 3 million 200 thousand tons of metal products as part of the agreements reached with Ukrzaliznytsia on the provision of 20 percent discounts from the current railway tariff.
Recall that until this moment, a significant part of the metal was brought to the Mariupol port across the city with long -termers, as a result of which the roads along the entire route of the cargo were broken.

“The decision to carry out the transportation of products from Azovstal and MMK named after Ilyich by rail was adopted by the Metinvest group to preserve the road infrastructure of Mariupol. The city is acutely faced with the problem of the quality of the road surface, and Metinvest, as a socially responsible company, significantly reduces the transportation of metal products by vehicles, ”the Metinvest said.
On April 23, Mariupol Mayor Yuri Hotlubey was forced to intervene in the situation and met with the general director of Metinvest Igor Syrym. The meeting was attended by heads of metallurgical plants of the city. In Metinvest, they expressed their readiness to significantly reduce the car transportation of their products and switch to railway transportation if their production processes are not affected and it is possible to change the tariff policy of the Ukrzaliznytsia SE.
