In January - May, the mountain metallurgical complex of Ukraine produced 13 million 815 thousand tons of steel

According to the Association of Metallurgical Enterprises of Ukraine OP Metallurgprom in the first five months (January - May) since the beginning of 2013, domestic metallurgy produced 13 million 815 thousand tons of steel, which is 2 percent less than the same period last year.

At the same time, the production of the total metal rolling over five months decreased by 1 percent - to 12 million 313 thousand tons, and the production of cast iron was preserved at the level of 2012 - 12 million 86 thousand tons.

The release of pipes in the indicated period fell by 26 percent - up to 714 thousand tons, the production of coke - by 10 percent, up to 7 million 396 thousand tons, while the manufacture of metizes increased by 12 percent to 93 thousand tons.

The supply of scrap metal to the metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine decreased by 12 percent - to 1 million 862 thousand tons.

In addition, in January - May 2013, the mining companies in Ukraine increased the production of iron ore by 3 percent to 34.596 million tons, increased the production of iron ore concentrate - by the same 3 percent, to 28 million 639 thousand tons. The release of prepared iron ore raw materials increased by 1 percent - up to 27 million 790 thousand tons, including the release of the agglomerate survived at the level of the first five months of last year - 18 million 212 thousand tons and increased production of pellets by 2 percent, to 9 million 578 thousand tons.
