According to the press service of the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant OJSC (MMK OJSC), the production of steel at the enterprise in the first quarter of 2013 amounted to 3 million 75 thousand tons, which is 3.6 percent more than in the fourth quarter of 2012 and 10 percent less than in the same period last year.
The production of the MMK product metal products for the first quarter of 2013 amounted to 2 million 744 thousand tons, which exceeds a similar indicator for the fourth quarter of 2012 by 4.4 percent. As stated in the MMK message, "mainly this growth is associated with an increase in the production of varietal rental, thick sheet, cold -rolled sheet and coatings rolled."
In the first quarter of 2013, MMK increased the volumes of production with high added costs to 1 million 58 thousand tons, demonstrating an increase of 10.6 percent compared to the last quarter. This growth is mainly associated with an increase in the production of thick sheet, cold -rolled rolled, galvanized rental and rental with polymer coatings.
The share of products with high value added in the total sales of commercial metal products MMK for the first quarter of 2013 reached 39 percent, 3 points above the indicator for the fourth quarter of 2012.
