Turkish metallurgists increase the export of metal rolling

In the first five months since the beginning of 2013, Turkish metallurgical companies increased the export of metal rolling by 4.25 percent compared to the same period last year, up to 10 million 550 thousand tons. At the same time, revenue from exports decreased by 3.4 percent - to 4 billion 250 million tons. This was reported by the Turkish Association of Exporters CIB.

In the structure of Turkish steel exports, the reinforcement and Katanka still prevails in the total volume of shipped metal products 3 million 800 thousand tons or 35 percent. In second place in the number of sales is a steel workpiece, the sale of which in five months has reached one million tons.

Most of the Turkish products were bought by neighboring countries of the Middle East, where 3 million 500 thousand tons of metal rolling were shipped. The second largest sales market of Turkish steel was Europe that bought 1 million 300 thousand tons of Turkish metal products.

In May 2013, Turkish steel exports increased by 1.2 percent, to 1 million 680 thousand tons, compared to April, by 0.1 percent, compared to the same period in 2012. In value terms, the May exports of metal products amounted to 1 billion 280 million US dollars, which is 2.4 percent more than in April.

Last month, Turkish exporters sold 800 thousand tons of metal products in the markets of the Middle East, in Central and South America - 176 thousand tons, in the European Union - 158 thousand tons.

In May alone, 814 thousand tons of reinforcement were sold 184 thousand tons of workpiece and 134 thousand tons of steel pipes. In addition, Türkiye last month exported 173 thousand tons of steel metal structures and about 100 thousand tons of rolled steel.
