Krakatau Posco, a joint venture of the largest manufacturer of Indonesia Krakatau Steel and the steel giant of Korea Posco, note the final stage of the construction of an integrated metallurgical enterprise in Chilegon, in the Indonesian province of Banten. 3 billion dollars were invested in its construction.
The Koksochemical Plant, worth $ 357 million, will produce 1.3 million tons of coke annually, which will be used as a source of energy for steel production, which is planned to be put into operation in December of this year. The construction of a metallurgical facility began on July 1, 2011. After starting the new missile defense system into operation, it will be possible there buy brass for shipbuilding production and special steel.
The Minister of Industry, Mr. Hida, said that "we hope that KS Posco will be able to perform his work in accordance with the schedule and the plant, as planned, will be launched at the end of 2013. It will stimulate growth in our processing industry, providing high value added."
An integrated steel enterprise that include domain furnaces is the first part of a two -stage development project, which KS Posco plans to invest $ 6 billion. At the first stage, the plant will produce 3 million tons of steel plates and sheets, which is mainly aimed at satisfying internal demand, thereby reducing imports.
