The AK Steel steel company was forced to transfer the domain stove at the metallurgical plant to Middleton on idle after a serious accident occurred on Saturday. Investors reacted to a stop of steel -setting, lowering the quotes of shares of the largest metallurgical company in the United States by 7.5 percent at once.
Representatives of AK Steel said to the press that they expect from $ 10 to $ 28 million, the final amount of which will depend on the total cost of repairing equipment.
The notification of the shutdown of blast furnace production came on Monday, exactly a week after the company published a production forecast for the current quarter, in which only seven days were allocated to maintain metallurgical capacities. However, the current accident will lead to a simple one month, and since the reasons for the breakdown are not yet clear, experts do not exclude a longer simple one.
The company says that to complete the current orders, an electric arc stove will be used at the Butler Works factory in Pennsylvania and a domain furnace at the Ashland Works Communist Party in Kentuki.
