On Friday, at the Brazilian Metallurgical Plant, THYSSENKRUPP began preparations for launching a domain furnace stopped last month due to the claims of the environmental services of Rio de Janeiro. In addition to the blast furnace, the company had to stop cokesochemical production.
During the forced downtime, the specialists carried out current repairs, service service of electric generators , inventory of electrical wiring and pipelines, and also replaced the developed materials. Dressing facilities and filters were brought into line with Brazilian environmental norms and requirements.
Environmental problems instantly reflected in negotiations on the sale of Brazilian assets. The main contender for the purchase of a German stake in the CIA Siderugica Atlantico (CSA) metallurgical plant, the Brazilian company CIA Siderurgica Nacional (CSN) began to insist on revising the amount of the transaction.
Currently, the domain furnace on the CSA is under the heating stage to operating temperature and as reported in Tyssenkrupp will be displayed at full capacity in the very near future. The representative of Thyssenkrupp refused to call the real reasons for the stop and restart a month later the largest blast furnace in Brazil.
Recall that the stop of the blasties led to a reduction in the production of metal rolling by more than half of the calculated power of the missile system at the level of 5 million tons per year.
