US steel manufacturers achieve Ad duties on the import of oil pipes from 9 countries

A group of steel pipes manufacturers in the United States asked for an international trade commission to consider the issue of introducing anti -dumping duties on the stream of an unfair, in their opinion, trade in products from nine countries.

The petition filed on Tuesday evening on behalf of the companies, including US Steel Corporation, contains a request to create a special commission to investigate the imports of certain types of steel pipes mainly used in the oil and gas industry. In the unfair practice of trade, they accuse manufacturers from nine countries, such as India, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Philippines, Taiwan, Ukraine, Turkey, Vietnam and Thailand.

Among that signed the petition: Boomerag Tube, a worldwide oil -class oil -class manufacturer (OCTG) and linear (LP); Energex Tube (JMC Steel Group), the most diversified manufacturer of steel pipes of oil variety (OCTG) and linear pipes used for drilling and transportation of oil and natural gas; Maverick Tube Corporation, manufacturer of welded pipe products from steel used in the energy industry; Northwest Pipe Company, a manufacturer of large diameter pipes operating under high pressure; Tejas Tubular Products, manufacturer and supplier of pipes of oil variety; TMK IPSCO, manufacturer of a wide range of welded and seamless pipes; United States Steel Corporation, the largest manufacturer steel in the country; VallouReC Star LP, manufacturer of standard pipes and pipes of oil varietal; WELDED TUBE USA Inc, a subsidiary of Canada welded pipes.

The applicants also seek to obtain a compensation fee for some pipes of the oil variety (OCTG) from India.
