The German attache praised the social policy of the Ilyich Communist Party

The German attache gave a high appreciation to the social policy of the Mariupol Metallurgical Plant named after Ilyich, which is part of the Metinvest group. The representative of the German Ministry of Germany and the attash of the German Embassy in Russia Lotar Shih expressed this opinion during an official visit to Ukraine, Metinvest’s press service reports.

During his stay in Mariupol, Mr. Shikh visited MMK. Ilyich, where he got acquainted with the social policy of the metallurgical plant. For the attache, factory workers prepared a presentation dedicated to the history of the enterprise and projects implemented in the field of ecology, industrial safety and labor protection.

As a person who is responsible at the German Embassy for social issues, Lotar Shih asked the trade union leaders about working conditions and social guarantees of the MMK provided to employees named after Ilyich. The leaders of the Ilyichevsky trade union committee told the Germans that the collective agreement of the enterprise provides for the annual recovery of employees and members of their families. According to the results of communication, he highly appreciated the social policy of the plant.

“In Germany, the principle of social partnership is very important, but I see that here social partnership plays an even greater role than ours. For a long time I worked in trade unions, so I am very glad when I see companies like yours. I often hear from employers what they do a lot for their employees, but then I hear a slightly different opinion from trade unions. I am glad that here the opinions of the employer and the trade union coincide, ”said Lotar Shikh.

During the visit to the MMK named after Ilyich, Mr. Shikh visited excursions in the converter workshop in front of which he conducted safety instruction and issued personal protective equipment.
