Jindal Steel Power LTD, one of the largest manufacturers in India with a significant presence in the mining industry, energy and infrastructure, plans to invest about 24,000 Inr rupees by the end of 2014-2015 in order to complete the capacity expanding the program and start work on the next phase.
The general director of JSPL said that the company will complete the current stage of expanding both of its main metallurgical enterprises and, after stabilizing new facilities, will begin the production of the first products next year. In addition, before the commissioning of new steel plants in Odisha's Angul and Oman, new power plants with a capacity of 2400 MW in Chhattisgarh's Tamnar will be launched.
Against the background of the completion of the current expansion phase, JSPL is also preparing to carry out preparatory work for the next expansion phase. This year, most of the allocated money will go to the construction of the remaining part of Tamnar and the first stage in Angul and the launch of a 1320 MW power plant in GODDA. Next year, it is planned to largely perform the second phase of Angul and Godda of the energy project.
After the end of the current stage of expansion of production capacities, JSPL will produce 7.5 million tons of steel per year. And existing capacities allow us to produce 3.5 million tons per year. In addition, generating power will increase to 5000 MW with 2500 MW currently.
