The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine by his Decree No. 462 of July 3, 2013 set quotas for the import of 210 thousand tons of coke and semi -lane until the end of the year.
The quota applies to the import of coke and semi -brown coal for the production of electrodes, other coke and semi -brown from stone coal, coke and semi -stroke from lignite, as well as brown coal, coke and semi -stroke of peat and retorter coal. Earlier, zero quota was installed on these types of coal industries, which meant a ban on the import of the territory of Ukraine.
Recall that in March 2013, the Ukrainian government actually prohibited the import of coking coal into the country, including them in the list of goods to be licensed and established a restriction (quota) to import coal in the amount of 10 million 200 thousand tons. In the same decree for No. 225 of March 13, zero quota was established to import coke, which caused a violent reaction in metallurgical companies that began the active introduction of dust -angle fuel system systems on the backdrop of a growing natural gas (Put).
As you know, Ukrainian coal contains a large amount of harmful impurities and cannot be widely used in blasting using the Put technology. One of the large steel producers of Ukraine is the Corporation Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD) filed a complaint with the Kiev District Court and won the case of the illegality of the quotation of Koks. On June 10, the District Administrative Court of Kyiv satisfied the claims of the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant (part of the ISD) and the Alchevsk Koksochemical Plant (both Lugansk Region) and canceled the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 225.
