According to the head of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, Eduard Stavitsky, Russia made a final decision regarding the construction of a plant in Ukraine, which will produce fuel for nuclear reactors such as VVER-1000.
The cost of construction is about 1 billion 700 million UAH, of which 1 billion 100 million UAH are investments.
The agreement on the creation of a joint venture was signed between the Ukrainian Civil Code of Nuclear Fuel and the Russian OJSC TVEL in 2011 with a share of the Ukrainian side 50 percent +1 action.
The laying ceremony of the first stone took place in the area of the village of Smolino, Kirovogradovsky Region in 2012 with the participation of Prime Minister - Minister of Ukraine Nikolai Azarov and representative of the Rosatom Group of Companies Sergei Kiriyenko.
By agreement, the Russian side will submit services for the complete support of production, advanced training of personnel and transfer technology for all stages of fuel manufacturing until 2020.
The first stage of construction is planned to be completed in 2015 with the final completion in 2020.
The final agreement will be reached on July 11, 2013 in Kyiv at a meeting of the operational headquarters with the participation of representatives of the Russian and Ukrainian parties, on which the final decision will be made to discuss specific issues of construction work.
Ukrainian specialists have already begun the procedure for state examination of the construction project.
The next additional issue of shares of a joint Ukrainian-Russian enterprise will be about $ 50 million.
