According to the Ministry of Economic Development, the Mariupol Metallurgical Plant Azovstal in the first six months of 2013 reduced the production of steel by 6.8 percent - to 2 million 281 thousand tons, compared to APPG -2012.
In January-June 2013, the cast iron smelting amounted to 1 million 970 thousand tons, which is 6.5 percent less than the indicator in the APPG-2012. The production of total rental for the specified period decreased to 2 million 100 thousand tons, which is 4 percent less than in the APPG-2012.
In the first half of the year, Azovstal increased the production of metal rolling, compared with APPG -2012 by 2.5 percent - up to 1 million 372 thousand tons.
In June, the production of steel at the enterprise amounted to 379 thousand tons, a total rental - 330 thousand tons and cast iron - 326 thousand tons.
Last year, the missile plant Azovstal smelted 4 million 593 thousand tons of steel, which is 17.7 percent less than in 2011. The drop in the production of metal rolling in 2012 amounted to 22 percent (4 million 168 thousand tons) and cast iron - 17.2 percent (4 million 26 thousand tons).
Azovstal Metallurgical Plant OJSC is a modern high -tech enterprise that produces a wide range of metal products: slabs, varietal and shaped rental, railway rails, rail fasteners, a square workpiece, a thick leaf, products made of metallurgical slag.
The production capacity of the plant allows for more than 5.5 million tons of cast iron per year, more than 6.4 million tons of steel, including a 4.4 million tons converter, more than 4.4 million tons of rental. Design capacities for the production of rail bonds are 285 thousand tons per year, grinding balls - 170 thousand tons per year.
