Russia reduces the export of metal distribution expanding the supply of domestic consumers

In January - May 2013, Russian metallurgical companies reduced ferrous metals export compared to APPG -2012 by 6.5 percent - up to 14 million 973 thousand tons. This is stated in the documents of the Federal Customs Service of Russia (FCS of the Russian Federation).

The reduction in export supplies occurs due to the reorientation of Russian steel manufacturers to the domestic market, since the overall production of steel products in the Russian Federation is growing.

Export revenues from the sale of ferrous metallurgy products abroad decreased in the first five months of 2013 by 14 percent and amounted to $ 8 billion $ 267 million. Including export of ferrous metals to the far abroad decreased by 10.9 percent to 12 million 580 thousand tons in a total of 6 billion 600 million dollars, while sales in the CIS increased by 26 million 389 thousand tons by a total of 1 billion 624 million dollars.
