Today it became known that the Donetsk Metallurgical Plant of the Donetskstal - MZ has been switching to a four -day working week from September 2013 in connection with a sharply worsening situation with the sale of products. This was reported by the press service of the enterprise.

Recall that on July 10, the plant was visited by the Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the Nationalist Party "Freedom" Ruslan Koshulinsky. As noted in a press release, during a meeting with the leadership of Donetskstal, issues of modernization of production, providing jobs, and an environmental component of the work of a group of companies were discussed.
“It is very important that even in such difficult conditions, the conditions of large-scale reconstruction, the company retains the team, directs significant efforts to training and re-profiling workers,” the Vice Speaker emphasized.
The decision to transfer the personnel of the metallurgical plant to a shortened working week will avoid abbreviations, and the employees with understanding reacted to such a step in the company's management and are ready to pass this difficult stage with it, the press service of the plant said.

As you know, the main shareholder of PRO Donetskstal - MZ is a Russian entrepreneur of Ukrainian origin Viktor Nusenkis.
Today, Donetskstal is actively conducting the reorganization and modernization of production: it builds a new electric stove with a capacity of 1 million 500 thousand tons per year and reconstructs a idle leaf -rolling mill. In addition, soon the first Scheredner installation for the processing of scrap metal in Ukraine will work at the plant.
In 2012, Donetskstal reduced the production of finished metal rolling by 63.2 percent compared to 2011 - up to 156.9 thousand tons, steel - by 77.1 percent to 90.1 thousand tons and increased cast iron - by 8.1 percent - to 1 million 310 thousand tons.
