Iran intends to increase the production of aluminum three times

In the first three months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 21, 2013, Iranian metallurgical companies manufactured 89 thousand 300 tons of pure aluminum in ingots. This was reported by the news agency Menafn.

In the last reporting month, aluminum production in Iran increased by 9 percent in relation to the APPG-2012, amounting to 30 thousand 100 tons. In addition, in the same month Iran produced 61 thousand 900 tons of clay, which is 11 percent higher than the APPG-2012 indicator.

According to the message, Iran needs to import more than 120 thousand tons of pure aluminum annually.

According to the member of the Iranian syndicate of aluminum producers, Mr. Markaryan Shahen, by the end of the implementation of the fifth national 5-year development plan (until 2015), the volume of aluminum production in the country will increase to 910 thousand tons per year.
