In France, 80 percent of energy is produced at nuclear power plants, the country occupies a leading position in the world of nuclear energy. The preservation of these positions is the priority task of the French government. In addition, gas production in this way can lead to a violation of the historical landscape.
Currently, the parliament, according to Hollande, does not plan to change the law, since the risks of negative impact are too high both on the environment and on human health.
At the same time, oil and gas companies ask for permission from the French government permission to conduct research to evaluate shale gas reserves, the extraction of which will help reduce energy costs and create jobs in the country.
As reported, the Ukrainian authorities in January of this year entered into a contract for shale gas with Shell in the Kharkov and Donetsk region. At the same time, the participants in the agreement are exempted from the payment of the main part of the taxes. The binding payments will remain VAT, income tax and payments for the use of subsoil.
