Dmitry Medvedev will hold a meeting of leading metallurgists in Chelyabinsk

On Tuesday, July 16, 2013, Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, arrives in Chelyabinsk on an official visit.

Judging by the report of the official press service of the government, Dmitry Anatolyevich will take part in an event dedicated to the commissioning of a universal railway camp (URBS), which will be held at the Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant OJSC. URBS ChMK is the first in Russia created from scratch by the enterprise for the production of long rails, the length of which is 12-100 meters. The timely launch of this production will bring Russia to one of the leaders of metallurgy who work in the production system of high -tech rolling products.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers will also take part in a meeting on the problems of the development of ferrous metallurgy. At the meeting, it is planned to discuss development prospects and the current state of the metallurgical industry. Today, our production country has taken 5th place in the world, second only to the United States, China, India and Japan, 3rd place after China and Japan in the production of steel pipes, as well as 3rd place in export of metal products.

Recently, the development of the industry has been slightly “slowed down”, which has somewhat negatively affected all industries, including construction. To do this, it is necessary to carry out some investment projects aimed at improving production efficiency. They will allow you to reach the new qualitative level of the entire metallurgical industry.

The head of the government Dmitry Medvedev plans to give state awards to employees of the plant and congratulate them on a professional holiday. The Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Sergey Donskoy, the envoy to the Ural Federal District Igor Kholmanski, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, heads of regions, representatives of the executive authorities, and heads of the metallurgical industry, will also be attended.
