In Ukraine, in half a year, production of steel decreased by 2 percent

In January - June, Ukraine reduced the production of steel by 2 percent compared to APPG -2012 - up to 16 million 542 thousand tons. The production of cast iron in the first half of 2013 decreased by 0.3 percent - to 14 million 447 thousand tons, and the production of metal products fell by 2 percent - up to 14 million 681 thousand tons. This is stated in the report of OP "Metallurgprom".

In June, the decline in production of steel compared to the previous month amounted to 1.1 percent (2 million 727 thousand tons), cast iron smelting decreased by 1 percent (2 million 391 thousand tons), and the production of metal rolling decreased by 2.7 percent (2 million 368 thousand tons).

As reported, at the end of last year, Ukrainian metallurgists intended to increase the production of cast iron by the end of 2013 and became 4-5 percent.
