Consortium Russian Steel reports that it is expected to exceed the consumption of rental and have become over the growth of production over the next 5 years, subject to consistent state support, at the meeting of Dmitry Medvedev with leading metallurgists of Russia in Chelyabinsk Alexei Mordashov, head of OJSC Severstal

Non -profit partnership “Russian steel” was created by the largest Russian metallurgical companies in 2011 in order to protect the interests of domestic metallurgists and create common projects that are not commercial. The share of partnership participants in the Russian market is 96 percent in the production of cast iron, 90 percent of steel.

According to Mordashov, rental production and began to increase annually by 3 percent, which will allow 16 percent of growth by 2017.

It is planned to increase domestic consumption by 2017 to 18 percent due to some growth in the construction market, which is the main consumer of Russian metal rolling and significant growth - about 9 percent - in the production of various types of household appliances.

As Mordashov emphasized, despite the fairly difficult situation in recent years, thanks to large investments, Russian metallurgy in the technology and conditions of funds occupies advanced positions in the world. State support in difficult market conditions to preserve the leading positions of domestic metallurgical enterprises is extremely necessary.

NP Russian Steel offers a set of measures to stimulate the consumption of rental and steel, increase the competitiveness of metallurgical enterprises and protect the Russian market.

Partnership participants propose to legislatively fix the growth of tariffs for railway transportation, provide tax benefits for mining in hard -to -reach places, and benefits for scrap imports. In addition, NP participants are counting on the support of the export of domestic engineering enterprises, the priority support for metallurgical products in the implementation of public procurement, the involvement of additional foreign consumers of rental and steel, in particular automakers.
