Arcelormittal calls for trade unions to accept a new industrial plan for the plant in liege

As a result of several months of intensive negotiations with the Government of Wallonia and other interested parties, Arcelormittal improved its industrial plan, which was first announced on January 24, 2013. Arcelormittal, turned to trade unions with a request to accept new offers regarding the industrial plan for subsequent joint activities.

2. line number four will not be dismantled. This means that Flemalle will not be closed, as was originally provided in terms of January 24.

3. The lines planned for closing will be mothballed, but not dismantled, as it was supposed to be before.

4. ArcelorMittal also expressed its commitment to the investment program in the amount of 138 million euros, which puts liezh in the vanguard of new technologies in this sector. In addition, research and development work in liege have prospects for the future.

And all this against the background of a very complex operating environment, to which we tried to adapt the original plan announced in January.
