World production steel increased by 1.9 percent, in Ukraine it increased by 7.8 percent, in Russia it decreased by 0.8 percent -worldsteel

In the first half of 2013, world production became 2 percent compared to the APPG-2012. Such data today was published by the World Cast iron association and became World Steel Association (WorldSteel). Global production steel in January - July amounted to 798 million 800 thousand tons.

In July, 132 million tons of raw steel were melted around the world, which is 1.9 percent higher than last month. Southeast Asia, which increased production steel by 5.5 percent, the greatest increase, and the greatest decline occurred in the countries of the European Union and the United States, where the smelting of steel was reduced by 5.1 and 5.8 percent, respectively, increased.

The production of steel in China in June 2013 amounted to 64 million 700 thousand tons, which is 4.6 percent more than in June 2012. In other countries of Asia, Japan produced 9 million 300 thousand tons of damp steel in June 2013, increasing the smelting by 0.9 percent compared to the same month of last year. The production of steel in South Korea amounted to 5 million 500 thousand tons in June 2013, which is 5.4 percent less than in June 2012.

In the EU, Germany produced 3 million 700 thousand tons of unrefined steel in June 2013, reducing production by 2.2 percent compared to June 2012. The production of steel in Italy amounted to 2 million 200 thousand tons, smelting was reduced by 10.3 percent in relation to June 2012. France produced 1 million 400 thousand tons of unrefined steel in June 2013, which is 2.8 percent more than in June 2012.

The production of steel in Turkey for June 2013 amounted to 3 million tons, which demonstrates a small increase by 0.5 percent compared to June 2012.

In June 2013, 5 million 700 thousand tons of raw steel were produced in Russia, which is 0.8 percent less compared to the same month of last year. The production of steel in Ukraine as June 2013 amounted to 3 million 100 thousand tons, which is 7.8 percent higher than in June 2012.

The United States produced 7 million 200 thousand tons of raw steel in June 2013, which is 0.2 percent less than in June 2012.

In June 2013, Brazil smelted 2 million 800 thousand tons of raw steel, which is 2.7 percent more compared to June 2012.

The capacity loading coefficient for 64 countries included in the WorldSteel Association in June 2013 decreased to 79.2 percent from 79.6 percent in May 2013. Compared to June 2012, this is 1.5 percentage points below.
