Mr. John Ferriola, General Director of the American Steel Corporation Nucor, who lost more than 25 percent of profit in the first half of the year, urged politicians to limit the import of cheap Chinese steel to US markets.
Ferriola is annoyed by the fact that the United States merchant department reacts too slowly to the security issues of the domestic market. He identified the largest manufacturer in the world of China, as a country undermining the foundations of the US economy.
"The current trade legislation is inherently reactively, and does not actively respond to growing problems. With such laws, we will soon go to look for a new job," said John Ferriol.
The irritation of the steel magnate is explained by the fact that in the first six months of this year, his company lost more than 7 percent of sales and more than 25 percent of net profit.
The American Institute of Chugun and became AISI emphasizes that the volumes of steel imports in the United States are growing for the fourth year in a row, inflicting significant damage to local manufacturers.
"If you reduce the import, then we will have new jobs and will significantly increase production volumes or, more simply, key ingredients necessary for healthy and sustainable economic growth in the United States," the AISI statement said today.
