The chairman of the board and the president of the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant OJSC (NLMK, Russia, Kaluga Region) oleg Bagrin expects an improvement in the demand for metal distribution in the fall of this year. He stated this in an interview with ITAR-TASS correspondent.
"Now there have been a certain increase in prices in international markets, mainly against the background of replenishing stocks in production chains. World demand for steel in the second quarter was weak, but now in China and the United States we see signs of replenishment of reserves, which may support prices to some extent," Bagrin said.
NLMK is one of the largest metallurgical companies in the world. The metallurgical plant produces a wide range of sheet and varietal steel rolling. The production capacity of metallurgical equipment allows you to melt 15 million 700 thousand tons of steel annually. In 2013, the company plans to release 15 million 500 thousand tons of raw steel.
