Türkiye demands to exclude it from the list of countries against which an anti -dumping investigation is opened today in the United States today

Manufacturers of steel pipes in Turkey will be required to exclude those suspects in the dumping in the US market. This is written today by the Turkish edition of Zaman.

As you know today in the United States, an official investigation of the unscrupulous import of steel pipes for the oil and gas industry has begun from nine countries of the world: the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, India, Turkey, Ukraine and Vietnam.

The investigation is carried out in response to a complaint of local manufacturers of steel pipes about unfair trade, known in world practice as a dumping. The listed countries offer metal products in the US market at a price below the cost, the Americans say, this situation became possible as a result of massive state support and subsidies issued by specific companies.

As the chairman of the Turkish Association of Steel Pipes Manufacturers Mr. Mehmet grains, his organization will do everything possible to explain to American manufacturers that Türkiye has nothing to do with the charges. Before being shipped to the United States, Turkish pipes undergo additional processing and become a finished product, not a metal rolling. In addition, Türkiye in no way supports domestic metallurgy and does not subsidize local companies.

Mehmed grain recalled that in a similar investigation that was initiated by the European Union was provenness to unreasonable accusations and European manufacturers who filed a complaint with the European Commission were forced to withdraw all their claims to Turkish companies.

Meanwhile, in 2009, according to the results of the same investigation as begun today, the United States proved dumping from Chinese metallurgical companies and introduced 86 percent of the duties for oil and gas pipes from this country.

Türkiye expects an increase in the production of steel pipes and their exports this year. In 2012, 4.25 million tons of steel pipes were produced in the country and 43 percent were exported abroad. Almost the entire variety of oil pipes falls into the United States. A total of 122,669 tons of oil pipes were sold by Turkey in the United States last year.
