In 2013, China imports more than a thousand tons of gold and will become the world leader in the consumption of this metal ahead of India. This is stated in the World Gold Council report by World Gold Council (WGC).
According to WGC forecasts, gold consumption in India due to an increase in import duties and high jewelry tax will be reduced to 850 tons. China, on the contrary, will sharply increase the demand for gold and set a new consumption record for a single state of 1000 tons.
The Chinese consider gold as an object for profitable investments and willingly buy jewelry and ingots as reliable means for long -term investment. Given the orientation of the new policy of China on the growth of domestic consumption, the volume of sales of jewelry will only grow.
The high demand for gold was preserved in China even during recent falls of the quotes of precious metals on the leading exchanges of the world.
