The Ministry of Revenue and Collection of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian companies in the first half of 2013 did not export scrap metal at all, and the import of scrap was increased two and a half times, to 103 thousand 651 tons compared with the APPG-2012.
In monetary terms, imports increased by 61.2 percent - to 41 million 281 thousand dollars. At the same time, the import was carried out mainly from Kazakhstan, Turkey and Hungary.
As reported, Ukrainian enterprises for operations with ferrous metal scrap in 2012 exported 366 thousand 542 tons of scrap metal, which is 54.3 percent less than 2011 (801 thousand tons). In monetary terms, scrap scrap exports decreased by 52.2 percent - to 153 million 138 thousand dollars (in 2011 - 320 million 245 thousand dollars).
The main export last year was carried out to Turkey (93.79 percent of supplies in monetary terms), Russia (3.01 percent) and Romania (1.99 percent).
In November and December 2012, scrap metal exports from Ukraine were not carried out due to the absence of a quota agreed by the Cabinet for its export.
