In Ukraine, an economic recession continues. This is evidenced by the data of the State Statistics Service, published late in the evening of July 31.
According to the report published on the service website, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Ukraine in the second quarter of 2013 compared to the same period last year decreased by 1.1 percent. Compared to the first quarter, taking into account the seasonal factor, the reduction in GDP was 0.4 percent.
The recession in Ukraine has been going on for a year. The decline in the third quarter of 2012 amounted to 1.3 percent, in the fourth - 2.5 percent.
Economists call the fall of gross domestic product for at least two quarters recession, which has become a characteristic phenomenon for modern Ukraine since the second half of 2012.
