According to the latest data published by the French Federation, in the first half of 2013, French production of steel decreased to 8.024 million tons, which is 4.3 percent less when compared with the same period last year.
During this period, the production of electric arc furnaces (EAF) was reduced by 11.6 percent to 2.979 million tons, while the BF of steel increased by 0.7 percent to 5.045 million tons of a year by the year.
In June 2013, the French production of raw steel amounted to 1.378 million tons, which is 2.8 percent higher when compared with the same period last year.
