CSN reached record sales of 3.1 million tons of steel in the first half of 2013, which is 15 percent higher when compared with the previous year. At the same time, the emphasis is placed on sales in the domestic market, which amounted to 2.4 million tons.
In the second quarter, the implementation of steel reached 1.6 million tons. In the first half of 2013, pure revenue from the sale of steel amounted to 6.1 billion R dollars, which is 21 percent higher than in the first half of 2012 and became the best result ever received for the general period of activity. In addition, in the second quarter, the results are 7 percent higher than in the first quarter of 2013, and they became a new record. The sale of iron ore amounted to 6.0 million tons in the second quarter of 2013, which indicates 45 percent improvement compared to the first quarter of this year.
In the second quarter of 2013, the total gross profit reached 1.0 billion R dollars, which is 32 percent more compared to the previous three months. The adjusted EBITDA indicator amounted to 1.1 billion R dollars in the second quarter of 2013, which is 21 percent higher than in the first quarter of the same year. In the mining and metallurgical sector, EBITDA showed an increase of 22 percent and 17 percent when comparing the quarter to the quarter in 2013 with the past.
