Russia unleashes a trade war with Ukraine

The delays in the design of goods on the Russian-Ukrainian border are directly related to disagreements between the two countries over the Customs Union. This was announced in an interview with the 5th channel by Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov.

The Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation has set more stringent requirements for goods to exported from Ukraine than to other countries. However, according to Ukrainian businessmen, no one is going to freeze an additional 20 percent of the cost of sold products.

Russia wants Ukraine to join the Customs Union, formed with Belarus and Kazakhstan, promising a number of advantages, including the supply of cheaper gas and increasing trade turnover. Instead, Ukraine seeks to sign an agreement with the European Union that excludes its membership in the Customs Union with Russia.

Russia is the main importer of Ukrainian goods, redeeming a quarter of all Ukrainian exports. The business cannot offer a system solution for the problem, and the government does not have it yet.
