The fourth in terms of the number of ore in the world Fortescue Metals took another step forward towards achieving an ambitious goal - to triple the number of iron ore raw materials and put into operation the fourth pier in the Herb Elliot port.
In order to reach 155 million tons of annual shipping of iron ore, the company needs to build two new piers, two port overloads, 15.5 km of conveyor systems, power and control stations and the infrastructure associated with this. Despite the global plan, work on the construction of new capacities goes on schedule and today Fortescue Metals has received a certificate for a new pier.
The updated port will maintain a significant increase in the supply of iron ore from Australian ports to Asia and, first of all, to China.
Recall that last week the price of iron ore with a content of 62 percent of iron has grown to $ 140, demonstrating the very good dynamics this year.
Fortescue Metals Group Ltd is an Australian iron ore company. She owns deposits in an area of more than 87 thousand km in Pilbar, in the west of Australia, which makes Fortescue Metals the largest owner of the explored reserves of metallurgical raw materials, more than the BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto combined.
