The largest metallurgical company in Japan Tokyo Steel raises the prices for metal rolling by 3 percent. The increase will affect thick -power steel and galvanizing in rolls. The new price list will begin to operate on September 1, 2013.
Meanwhile, the prices for a channel and beams will remain unchanged. "Local demand from construction companies remains at a low level and given the high level of production of construction metal rolling, it was decided not to increase prices for it," says Kesia Imamura, managing director of Tokyo Steel.
From September 1, the price of thick -power steel will increase by 2000 yen ($ 20.50) to 69,000 yen, and the cost of galvanizing will reach 82,000 yen. The price of the beam will remain unchanged and amount to 74000 yen.
The last time Tokyo Steel raised the prices for metal rolling in February this year.
