In July 2013, the production of Chugun in the World Association countries became World Steel Association (WorldSteel) amounted to 98 million tons, which is 2.5 percent more than in June and 4.3 percent higher than in APPG-2012.
The production of cast iron in Asia amounted to 76 million tons, which is 6.1 percent more than last year, and 60 million tons of cast iron were melted in the territory of China (+6.6 percent to the APPG-2012). In Japan, the production of cast iron amounted to 7 million 260 thousand tons (+2.2 percent), in India 4 million 170 thousand tons were melted (+15 percent).
In the countries of the European Union, the production of cast iron amounted to 7 million 600 thousand tons, in the CIS-6 million 960 thousand tons (-3.7 percent to the APPG-2012).
In general, for seven months since the beginning of 2013, in 38 countries which accounted for 99 percent of the production of cast iron, 684 million 300 thousand tons of this metal production were produced, which is 4.5 percent higher than a year earlier.
