Putin promised to fight Chinese imports

Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to support the appeal of a pipe metallurgical company (TMK) to the Customs Union for an anti -dumping investigation against Chinese metallurgists. It is reported by ITAR-TASS.

Speaking at a meeting on the commercial and economic development of the Rostov region, the head of the TMK Dmitry Pumpyansky drew the attention of the President of the Russian Federation to dumping by the Chinese. Vladimir Putin advised to appeal to a special commission of the Customs Union with an appropriate complaint and promised support in the consideration of this issue.

According to Pumpyansky, Chinese manufacturers of metallurgical products have hidden state subsidies and, with negative profitability, continue to sell metal rolling cheaper than the raw material component of its production in Russia. Thanks to the dumping advancement, the growth in sales of Chinese metal products for the first half of the year was 240 percent.

“We work in TMK in many countries of the world and have a unique experience in conducting anti -dumping and compensation investigations, over the past year and a half we conducted successful investigations in the USA and the European Union, but, unfortunately, these procedures are unreasonably long in the Customs Union,” the head of the tube metallurgical company told Putin.
