Today, Russian metallurgical companies group of MMK (Magnitogorsk ImmgoMank and its satellites), as well as the company Polymetal International PLC, registered in the Norman Islands, but working in the Russian Federation announced record losses in the first half of 2013. Thus, the MMK group announced a four-fold increase in pure loss compared to APPG-2012 to 136 million US dollars, and the PolyMetal International PLC received a net loss of the IFRS financial statements in the amount of $ 257 million in profit a year earlier.
Both companies justify their negative results with exchange differences and reduction in steel and metals.
At the same time, none of the companies have published today expects the situation from the second half of 2013, moreover, MMK said that its results may deteriorate and steel prices will remain under pressure from the volatile market.
