As a result of the numerous complaints of the townspeople, in May of this year, the Mariupol Metallurgical Plant Azovstal refused to transport metal products to the port by road and switched to railway shipments. As a result of the cargo flow in Zhelorcekh, the plant grew by 160 thousand tons per month.
The railway workers were managed in new difficult conditions to organize their work in such a way that the turnover of one car took less than 30.1 hours in July, which in turn led to savings only by reducing the fee for the use of a rolling stock of 1 million 400 thousand UAH.
“Railway workers and production workers are well aware that simple wagons are additional costs for the plant. The Metinvest group, being a socially responsible company, initiated the transition to railway transportation to ensure the safety of the quality of the road surface. We fulfill partnerships to the huge Mariupol community - we work so that the interests of the business coincide with the needs of the city, ”said Enver Tskitishvili, General Director of MK Azovstal, PJSC.
Azovstal railway workers saved one and a half million hryvnias
