Background On the eve of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Future metallurgists will be trained according to the new bachelor's program in cooperation with the Krivoy Rog National University and the State University of Economics and Technology. Students of the "New Factory" program can be graduates of schools, colleges and vocational schools. Upon completion of their studies, they will receive an associate bachelor's degree and an international diploma from ArcelorMittal. - The New Factory educational project is a vivid example of dual education. Students receive theoretical knowledge within the walls of universities, and to practice practical skills, we are now building a new facility - an ecological pelletizing factory. During the three years of the project's implementation, we will invest about 70 million hryvnia. The funds will be used for training, scholarships, international internships, and improving the living conditions of students. We are now in the process of actively collecting applications from young people who are interested in this opportunity. The pelletizing plant is one of the key environmental projects in which ArcelorMittal is investing about $ 250 million. The launch of the new production facility will allow for the gradual decommissioning of two existing sinter shops of the enterprise. Together with a large-scale reconstruction of one more sinter plant, this will significantly improve the environmental situation in the region. The total volume of emissions will decrease by 78 thousand tons, and the volume of CO2 emissions will decrease by 800 thousand tons per year.
