This is 2.51% higher than in January-October 2021 (1173.17 million tons). The first place belongs to the People's Republic of China, whose metallurgists smelted 734.07 million tons of pig iron in January-October 2021, which is 3.20% lower than the indicator for the same period in 2020 (758.34 million tons). The share of Chinese pig iron in world production for 10 months of 2021 is 61.0%. Ukraine (17.72 million tons or 105.0% in relation to January-October 2020) ranks 10th among 38 countries that produce pig iron. Steel Production World steel production for 10 months of 2021 is 1,607.14 million tons, which is 5.87% higher than the indicator for 10 months of 2020 (1,518.06 million tons). The leader here is also the People's Republic of China, which smelted 877.05 million tons, which is 0.70% less than in January-October 2020 (883.23 million tons). The PRC's share in world steel production is 54.6%. Ukraine (17.90 million tons or 105.5% compared to January-October 2020) ranks 14th among 64 steel-producing countries.
