During the quarantine, 20% of gas produced in Ukraine will be sold through the exchange

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution according to which gas producing companies are obliged to sell on the exchange 20% of the gas produced in Ukraine during the quarantine period, but no longer than May 1, 2022.

The corresponding decision, which amends the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1236 "On the establishment of quarantine and the introduction of restrictive anti-epidemic measures in order to prevent the spread of acute respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in Ukraine," was adopted at meeting 30 December and comes into force from the date of its publication - December 31.

“The government introduced temporary restrictions in connection with the need to stabilize the situation on the gas market. Already in January, the companies producing production are to sell about 80 million cubic meters of gas through the exchange. The corresponding norm will be valid for four months. The main buyers will be end consumers - producers of social varieties of bread, flour, milk, butter, eggs, chicken, ”said First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko.

The document also establishes the maximum level of the supply and sales markup (supplier remuneration) to the price of natural gas of its own production (excluding rent payments) at the level of no more than 24 percent to meet the needs of business entities whose main activity is the production of food products of significant social significance ...
