UK imposes sanctions against Russian steelmaker Evraz

The UK government has imposed sanctions on the Russian company Evraz. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom.

According to the British Foreign Office, the company operates in the steel and mining industries and is of strategic importance for the Russian economy. It is known that Evraz accounts for 28% of all railway wheels and 97% of railways produced in the Russian Federation.

The British diplomatic office noted that Russia uses the railway to deliver military cargo, equipment and troops to Ukraine. Now, no legal entity or individual from the UK will be able to do business with this company, the message of the UK Foreign Office emphasizes.
