According to statistics from the Federacciai Italian steel association, Italy's steel production in July this year was about 1.6 million tons, down 27% from the same month last year.
During the reporting period, Italian long products production was 888,000 tons, down 30.5% year-on-year, while flat steel production was down 17% year-on-year to 796,000 tons.
In the first seven months of this year, Italy produced a total of 13.8 million tonnes of crude steel, down 7.3% from last year. Production of long products decreased by 9% to 7.6 million tons, and the production of flat products - by 5% to 6.2 million tons year on year.
