The project is being carried out jointly with Norilsk Nickel and is aimed at increasing the production efficiency of the mine and ensuring safety during the technological processes of rock crushing.
The solution includes four subsystems: machine vision, decision making, traffic control, and safety and monitoring. The algorithm determines the movement of the handle depending on the target point of impact. Based on machine vision data, the system makes a decision and, through the control hub, sets the coordinates for crushing the rubble on the grate. Pilot testing of the solution is planned to begin in the spring of 2026 at the Komsomolsky mine.
The system provides prioritization of crushing objects, selection of the optimal point for applying the lance and the shortest route of the boom to the selected point. The proposed approach significantly increases the productivity of the crushing system. Combined with an increase in operating time due to a reduction in planned downtime for lunch, shift changes and blasting, as well as a reduction in personnel costs, the project has a high potential for replication. A site for expansion has already been selected in case of successful tests - the Skalisty mine.
